Marques Young, Co-Principal Trombonist of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and a leading figure in the burgeoning jazz scene in Southeast Asia, will be performing a dynamic recital demonstrating the multi-facets of his talent and background. The first half of the programme will consist of solo classical repertoire, including the Sonata for Trombone and Piano by Paul Hindemith, and the second half will feature original jazz compositions by Marques, performed alongside a Singapore based rhythm section and T’ang Quartet, the Conservatory’s Quartet-in-Residence.
